Hi. I'm Claire Nesbitt. I'm a hybrid coach, athlete and HYROX ambassador, and I've competed in 12 HYROX races with multiple podiums in different categories, as well as road and trail running races.

My journey to hybrid fitness


I discovered HYROX in November 2022, when the first race in Asia was held in Hong Kong, and I have been hooked ever since.

I come from a 15-year background in competitive running. I've competed in and won local cross country races, built up to 10km's and half-marathons, and in the last few years I've done a couple of road marathons and podiumed in several long-distance trail races. I played sports like basketball and rugby, too, captaining and coaching the fitness sessions for my university women’s basketball team.

But with a busy working life, I switched to fitness classes at the gym. That's where I heard about HYROX in 2022.

I signed up for the first HYROX race in Asia and took first place in the Women Open race. This qualified me for the 2023 HYROX World Championships in Manchester with half a year to transform from a skinny runner to comfortably being able to move 150kg sleds in the pro weight category.

I applied the techniques that made me a competitive runner to resistance training to build muscle and strength, as well as dialling down on HYROX-focused training.

With two years of HYROX-specific training, I have gone from an open-weight time of 1:17 to a current pro-weight PB of 1:07. I have competed and podiumed in women doubles and mixed doubles too - I held the previous APAC record for HYROX women doubles with Clare Cheung, and we currently hold the China pro women doubles record at 1:00:02.

I'm an ambassador for HYROX Hong Kong for the 24/25 season. I have competed in 11 HYROX races (since 2022), completed the “HYROX365 Foundation Course - HYROX Ready” (2024), and am a NASM certified personal trainer (CPT, 2025).
